Air Combat

Air Combat is a combat flight simulation game developed and published by Namco, and the title that launched the Ace Combat franchise. Players pilot mercenary aircraft through a series of missions, spending earned funds on upgraded and additional planes. This Platinum edition, released on 1 March 1997, is a budget reissue presented in the smaller Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case format, with a hologram on the case. It was distributed across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Netherlands, with English as the sole language. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demos are included. The Platinum label and compact case make this variant visually distinct from the original Full Jewel releases. The reduced paperwork compared to earlier editions is typical of this reissue tier, and collectors should note the absence of the Namco flyer found in some other Air Combat pressings.
