Tekken

Tekken is a 3D fighting game developed and published by Namco, originally released in arcades before being ported to the PlayStation. One of the earliest polygon-based console fighters, it expanded significantly on the arcade version with additional characters and game modes, and became one of the defining titles of the early PlayStation era.

Five PAL variants are currently catalogued, distributed across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. All releases are single-disc and English-language only. The original launch editions are notable for appearing in two distinct formats, a Cardboard box and a Full Jewel PAL case, both without a hologram on the case, with the Cardboard edition including a Namco single-sided thin flyer as loose paperwork. A later Reprint pressing uses the Full Jewel PAL case with a hologram added to the case. A Platinum budget re-release followed in the smaller Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case with a hologram, and a Value Series Black Label edition with a revised serial appeared in a Full Jewel PAL case with a hologram. The cardboard original is of particular interest to collectors given its unusual packaging format.
