Destruction Derby - Front Cover Destruction Derby - Back Cover
Destruction Derby is a vehicular combat racing game developed by Reflections Interactive and published by Psygnosis, released in 1995 for the PlayStation. Based on the spectacle of demolition derby racing, the game rewards players for wrecking opponents rather than simply finishing first, backed by simulated physics that made collision damage feel genuinely reactive for its time. The PAL database catalogues three variants across two release types: an original and a Platinum budget reissue. The original appeared in two distinct case formats, a Full Jewel PAL and a Multiway Jewel One Disk, both without a hologram on the case. The Platinum edition, issued in March 1997, moves to the smaller Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case with a hologram on the case, and was UK-only. All releases are English-language and use a single disc. A yellow Destruction Derby manual registration card appears as loose paperwork in some editions. The original Multiway Jewel packaging makes for a particularly interesting collector variant given the format’s relative scarcity.
