Battle Arena Toshinden is a 3D fighting game developed by Tamsoft, published in PAL territories by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. One of the first fighting games to feature fully polygonal characters in a three-dimensional arena, it introduced a sidestep mechanic that helped push the genre into true 3D gameplay, and was a high-profile PlayStation launch title across PAL markets on 29th September 1995.

Two PAL variants are currently catalogued, covering releases across France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the UK. Both variants share the same serial and are single-disc, English-language releases with no bundled demo discs or loose paperwork documented. The original edition is housed in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram on the case. The later Platinum budget re-release is packaged in the smaller Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case, with a hologram present on the case.

As a launch title that helped define the PlayStation’s early identity in PAL regions, Battle Arena Toshinden holds genuine collector interest, and original complete copies in good condition are increasingly sought after.
