V2000, also known as Virus 2000, is a 3D space shooter developed by Frontier Developments and published by Grolier Interactive, the sequel to David Braben’s original Virus game. Players pilot a spacecraft through alien-infested worlds, destroying hives and rescuing inhabitants while collecting weapon upgrades and earning trophies. This UK Original release carries serial SLES-00545 and was released on 15 October 1998. It is a single-disc Full Jewel PAL release with language support across English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish, with a Hologram A on the case. As the sole catalogued PAL variant, this UK-only pressing is the only documented physical release for V2000 in the region. The Frontier Developments origin and Braben connection add quiet historical interest to this modest title.
