Tomb Raider, the debut action-adventure from Core Design and Eidos Interactive that launched one of gaming’s most recognised franchises, follows Lara Croft on a globe-spanning quest for the Scion of Atlantis. This German Original release carries serial SLES-00486 and was released on 25 November 1996. It is a single-disc release in German, housed in a Multiway Jewel One Disk case without a hologram. Research notes confirm the front inlay carries the text ‘Komplett in Deutsch’, identifying this clearly as the fully localised German edition. This inlay annotation mirrors the equivalent French pressing’s use of ‘Textes et voix en francais’, and is a useful identifier for collectors distinguishing localised country originals from multi-language pressings within the 14 PAL variants catalogued for Tomb Raider.
