Star Wars: Dark Forces Launch Release (Sweden, UK)

Star Wars: Dark Forces is a first-person shooter developed by LucasArts and Big Bang Software and published by LucasArts Entertainment Company. Players take the role of Kyle Katarn, a mercenary working for the Rebel Alliance, who uncovers the Empire’s secret Dark Trooper Project. The game was built on the purpose-made Jedi engine, which allowed looking up and down and levels with multiple floors.

This Original release was sold in both the UK and Sweden and is dated 1 May 1997. It comes in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram. The game is on a single disc and is in English only. The EAN barcode is 5028587081118.

The shared UK and Sweden distribution suggests a pan-regional print run, which is worth noting for collectors who like to follow how publishers handled smaller markets. As one of the earlier PC first-person shooter conversions on the PlayStation, this copy is a solid piece of Star Wars gaming history for any PAL collection.
