Shanghai: True Valor Launch Release (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK)

Shanghai: True Valor, known in Japan as Shanghai: Matekibuyu, is a 3D tile-matching puzzle game developed and published by Sunsoft, with PAL distribution handled by Activision and Infogrames.

This pan-European pressing covers the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain simultaneously, dated 1 May 1999, with English as the sole supported language across all five territories. The single disc ships in a Full Jewel PAL case bearing a Hologram B marking, indicating later-production status. Disc serial SLES-01618 anchors this multi-territory variant, with EAN barcode 4907940130698 the principal cataloguing identifier. The Japan-derived EAN prefix (490) is a notable detail for collectors, reflecting Sunsoft’s Japanese parent-publisher origins despite the third-party PAL distribution arrangement. A relatively easy pickup for genre collectors.
