Ridge Racer Rental (UK)

Ridge Racer is Namco’s arcade racing hit for the PlayStation, published in Europe by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. This entry is the Rental release, catalogued with a date of 29 September 1995, which places it alongside the console’s European launch.

Rental copies were made for video shops rather than the retail shelf, and this one comes in a dedicated Rental Case rather than a standard jewel case. It has no hologram. The disk count is one and the game is in English. The variant is recorded for Italy, Germany, France, the UK, the Netherlands and Spain.

Its EAN barcode is 0711719614326. Rental cases saw heavy handling and were often discarded or damaged once a title left circulation, so a clean complete example is a worthwhile find. It is one of nine PAL variants catalogued for Ridge Racer.
