Ridge Racer

Ridge Racer is Namco’s iconic arcade racer, one of the PlayStation’s defining European launch titles from September 1995. This variant is the rental edition, housed in a dedicated Rental Case format, designed for use by video rental shops across territories including Italy, Germany, France, the UK, Netherlands, and Spain.

The case carries no hologram and the release contains a single English-language disc. No loose paperwork is documented for this variant, and no case stickers or bundled demos are recorded. Rental copies were typically stripped of retail inserts and produced to withstand heavy repeated use.

Rental-format PS1 releases are increasingly sought after by collectors, as they represent a distinct corner of the physical release landscape and are often harder to source in good condition than their retail counterparts.
