Ridge Racer

Ridge Racer, the 1993 Namco arcade racer ported to the PlayStation as a flagship launch title, was published in PAL territories by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. This pan-European Original was released on 29 September 1995 across the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Norway and Sweden, but distinguishes itself by using the Multiway Jewel Two Disk case format rather than the more common Full Jewel PAL packaging found on the parallel pressing. Despite the larger case, the release contains a single English-language disc, and no hologram is present on the case. The barcode 0711719613220 confirms this issue. Inside, the Namco 0001 Single Sided thin flyer is documented as loose paperwork. The Multiway case is an unusual choice for a single-disc title and makes this variant particularly intersting to collectors focused on early case format curiosities.
