R-Types is a 1998 shoot ’em up compilation developed by Irem and published in PAL territories by Virgin Interactive, containing faithful ports of R-Type and R-Type II alongside a gallery of promotional artwork and FMV material. Both games were reprogrammed from scratch using reverse engineering rather than emulation. This combined five-territory Original pressing covers the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, released on 20 September 1998 in a Full Jewel PAL case on a single disc, with EAN 5028587082146 and Hologram A on the case. Language support is English only. This is the only catalogued PAL variant for the title, making it the definitive PAL physical release.
