R-Types Launch Release (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, UK)

R-Types is a compilation of the arcade shoot’em ups R-Type and R-Type II, developed by Irem Software Engineering with Racdym and published in Europe by Virgin Interactive. The two games were reprogrammed for the PlayStation, and the disc adds bonus material such as a gallery and a library section.

This is the Original PAL release, serial SLES-01355, dated 20 September 1998. A single pressing serves the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain, so the language is English only. It is housed in a Full Jewel PAL case with one disc, and the case carries a Hologram A marking. The EAN barcode is 5028587082146.

Loose paperwork is documented for this variant, specifically a Virgin Interactive 3266 Folded Registration Card, so a complete copy should include it. As the only PAL variant catalogued for the game, it is the definitive European release of the compilation.
