Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee Launch Release (UK)

Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is a puzzle platformer from Oddworld Inhabitants, published by GT Interactive Software. It follows Abe, a Mudokon slave at RuptureFarms, as he tries to escape the factory and free his fellow workers.

This is the UK Original release, serial SLES-00664, dated 1997-09-15, and it is the first PAL edition of the game. It comes in a Full Jewel PAL case with Hologram A on the case, and contains a single disc in English. The EAN barcode is 5029988001767.

A GT Dark Purple Registration Card is documented as loose paperwork with this variant, and it is the kind of insert that is often missing from second-hand copies. Later UK reissues, including Best Of Infogrames and Platinum editions, exist as part of a total of 12 catalogued PAL variants, but this is the true first pressing for the UK market. That makes it the natural starting point for anyone building a complete Abe’s Oddysee collection.
