NHL Powerplay 98 is an ice hockey game developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Virgin Interactive, featuring all NHL teams, several Olympic squads, and polished player animations with full contact gameplay. This is the sole PAL variant of the game, carrying serial SLES-00418 and covering the UK, France, Germany, Finland, and Sweden as a multi-territory release. It is presented in a Full Jewel PAL case with a hologram on the case, and comes on a single disc with language support for English, French, and German. Released on 22 May 1998, this is the original and only PAL edition. The inclusion of Scandinavian territories reflects the popularity of ice hockey in those markets. No paperwork or case stickers are included with this variant.
