NBA Live 96 is a basketball simulation developed and published by EA Sports, the second instalment in the NBA Live series and the franchise’s PlayStation debut, featuring 3D-rendered courts with EA’s Virtual Stadium multi-camera technology.

This is the sole PAL variant for the title, an original release dated 1 May 1996, distributed across the UK, France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. It is housed in the Full Jewel Black Bordered PAL case, a format associated with EA’s early PAL releases and identified by its distinctive black case border. No hologram is present on the case. The single-disc release is in English only. No loose paperwork, case stickers, or bundled demo discs are documented. As the only known PAL physical pressing of NBA Live 96, this variant encapsulates the game’s entire European physical release in one edition, and the Black Bordered case format lends it a degree of visual distinction within a PS1 collection.
