Namco Museum Vol. 4 is a Namco-published arcade compilation collecting Pac-Land, The Return of Ishtar, The Genji and the Heike Clans, Assault, hidden Assault Plus, and Ordyne. The series is well-regarded among retro collectors for preserving a range of late-1970s to late-1980s Namco arcade output on a single disc.
This German-market Original release carries serial SCES-00701 and was distributed in Germany with a dedicated EAN barcode separate from the broader continental pressing. It comes in the Full Jewel PAL case with a hologram on the case, and contains a single English-language disc. Released on 1 August 1997, it is one of three PAL variants. As with the Battle Arena Toshinden 3 releases, Germany received its own dedicated pressing alongside appearing in a broader multi-territory version, reflecting the significance of the German market for Sony’s European distribution at the time.
