MDK Launch Release (France, Germany, UK)

MDK is a third-person shooter in which the reluctant hero Kurt Hectic infiltrates enormous alien Minecrawlers to save the Earth. It was created by Shiny Entertainment for PC, then brought to the PlayStation by Neversoft, with Interplay publishing in Europe.

This variant is the Original release for the UK, France and Germany, serial SLES-00599, dated 1997-11-10. It uses the Full Jewel PAL case, carries Hologram A on the case and contains a single disc. The game supports English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, so it is fully multilingual despite the listing of only three countries. The EAN barcode is 5026102281784.

No loose paperwork is recorded for this edition. It shares its serial with a second catalogued variant covering the UK, Italy and Spain, and the barcode is the clearest way to separate the two. For collectors, it is a good example of Interplay’s early PAL packaging, and a clean copy with the hologram intact is a fine addition to a shelf of late 1990s shooters.
