Independence Day: The Game Launch Release (France)

Independence Day: The Game is a combat flight and shooter title based on the 1996 film, developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Fox Interactive.

This is the French Original release, dated 15 July 1997, placing it among the earliest PAL copies of the game. It is supplied in a Full Jewel PAL case with a single disc, and the game offers English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish languages. The EAN barcode is 5030930012861.

A Fox Interactive Soho Square Registration Card is documented as loose paperwork for this variant. As with many registration cards of the period, it is easy to lose, so a copy that still includes it is a more complete and desirable example.

Being the Original rather than a Core Multipack, this is the edition that represents the French launch of the game. Collectors building a country-by-country set will want it in the collection, ideally alongside the later Core Multipack for comparison.
