Independence Day: The Game Launch Release (Germany)

Developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Fox Interactive, Independence Day: The Game turns the 1996 alien invasion film into a combat flight and shooter experience for the PlayStation.

This is the second catalogued German Original release, dated 15 July 1997. Like its counterpart it uses a Full Jewel PAL case and holds a single disc, with English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish language support. The EAN barcode is 5030932012869, the same as the other German Original entry, so any differences are likely to lie in the finer details of the packaging or print.

A Fox Interactive Soho Square Registration Card is recorded as loose paperwork with this variant, and collectors should look for it when judging a complete copy.

Having two German Original entries is a good reminder of how many small production runs existed for licensed titles at the time, and it gives completists a reason to compare copies side by side rather than assume they are identical.
