FIFA 97, the Electronic Arts football simulation with polygonal players and David Ginola on the European cover, arrived in multiple case formats for the PAL market at launch. This Original release carries serial SLES-00504 and was released on 16 November 1996, covering the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. It is presented in a Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case without a hologram, as a single-disc release supporting English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish. The Mini Jewel Black Bordered format is one of three case types documented for FIFA 97 PAL variants, alongside Mini Jewel White Bordered and Full Jewel editions. This multi-country pressing shares its EAN barcode and serial with the Full Jewel variant, making physical case format the key identifier between the two.
