Cool Boarders 4 Launch Release (UK)

Cool Boarders 4 is a snowboarding game developed by Idol Minds and published by 989 Studios, with Sony releasing it in Europe. Sixteen real professional snowboarders feature, along with 34 licensed boards and the option to create your own rider.

This is the UK original release, dated 10 January 1999. It was issued in a Full Jewel PAL case with a single disc and a Hologram B sticker on the case. The game is in English.

The catalogued EAN barcode is 0711719143123. As the first UK pressing, it is the natural reference copy for the game on PAL territory and the one most collectors will look for first. The later UK Platinum reissue shares the same serial, so the EAN and the case branding are what tell the two apart. A clean original with an intact case is a pleasing addition to a snowboarding or Sony first party collection.
