Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Launch Release (France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain)

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an action role-playing platformer developed by Konami Computer Entertainment and published by Konami, following Alucard as he explores Dracula’s reappearing castle. It is a direct sequel to Rondo of Blood and is widely regarded as a high point of the series.

This is the Original release for continental Europe, covering France, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, and it is dated 2 November 1997. It comes in a Full Jewel PAL case with Hologram B on the case, which separates it from the UK Original that carries Hologram A. The game is on a single disc and the language is English only, despite the multi-country distribution. The EAN barcode is 4988602060652.

For collectors, this is the first-pressing format of the game in the region, before the later Enhanced Edition with its two-disk Multiway Jewel case arrived. It is a straightforward but important copy to own if you are building a complete picture of the PAL releases.
