Bomberman Fantasy Race Launch Release (Italy, Netherlands, Spain)

Bomberman Fantasy Race is a racing spin-off from the Bomberman series, developed by Graphic Research and published in Europe by Virgin Interactive. This variant is the Original release for Italy, Spain and the Netherlands, catalogued under serial SLES-01712 and dated 15 July 2000. It is a single disk in a Full Jewel PAL case, and the EAN barcode is 5028587082252.

The disk carries English, French, German and Spanish, so a single multilingual version served these three markets. Players race on animals such as Louie and Tirra through fantasy courses, picking up items, throwing bombs and winning coins to buy new creatures and tracks.

It is one of seven catalogued PAL variants that share the same serial, so the barcode is the best way to tell this southern European pressing from the French and German one. As an Original release rather than a later budget issue, it is the edition that most collectors will want to track down first.
