Armored Core is a third-person mech action game developed by FromSoftware and published in Europe by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, the first game in the now-celebrated Armored Core series. Players customise a highly modular mech and undertake mercenary missions in a dystopian post-apocalyptic world.

This German-market Original release carries serial SCES-00842 and was distributed in Germany with its own dedicated EAN barcode, separate from the broader continental pressing that also includes Germany. It comes in the Full Jewel PAL case with a single disc supporting English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Released on 31 October 1997, it is one of four PAL variants. The existence of a dedicated German EAN alongside Germany’s inclusion in the continental multi-territory pressing is a nuanced distribution detail. The German-specific pressing is the naturally attributed version for German-market collectors, and complete copies are comfortably findable in German secondary market channels.
