Yusha: Heaven's Gate

Yusha: Heaven’s Gate is a 3D fighting game developed by Racdym, now known as Racjin, and published in Europe by JVC. It began life as an arcade project and reached the PlayStation in Japan in 1996, before its European release followed in the autumn of 1997. Players choose from eight starting fighters, each with a different nationality and specialty, and each aligned to good or evil, which in turn decides the final boss they face.

The PAL release landscape is straightforward. One variant is currently catalogued, an Original pressing dated 15 October 1997 and covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. It is an English language, single disc release supplied in a Full Jewel PAL case with a Hologram A.

Because it appears to have received a single shared pan-European pressing, there are no regional language editions or budget reissues to chase. That makes it an easy title to complete, though it remains a fairly obscure fighter in the PAL library and a pleasing inclusion for collectors who enjoy the lesser-known JVC Digital Studios releases.
