SCES-00010
Initially Released 29 September 1995

WipEout is a futuristic anti-gravity racing game developed and published by Psygnosis, serving as a launch title for the PlayStation in Europe in 1995. Set in 2052, players race across global circuits in the F3600 league, piloting craft with distinct speed, mass, and handling characteristics, picking up weapons and power-ups along the way.

The PAL release landscape covers three catalogued variants spanning the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. Two Original releases exist, one in the standard Full Jewel PAL case format and one in the more distinctive Multiway Jewel One Disk configuration, both without holograms on the case. A later Platinum release appeared in the smaller Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case. All variants share a single disc and are in English.

WipEout was notable at the time for its cutting-edge soundtrack featuring artists such as Leftfield, The Chemical Brothers, and Orbital, and the UK Original releases carry a yellow ‘Music By’ sticker on the case listing these artists. The game includes dual manuals covering English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Dutch depending on packaging configuration. As one of the defining early PlayStation titles, WipEout remains a sought-after piece of PAL collecting history.
