SLES-00413
Initially Released 27 June 1997
Tokyo Highway Battle is a 1996 racing game developed by Genki and Bullet-Proof Software and published by Jaleco Entertainment, part of the long-running Shutokou Battle franchise. Players navigate three Tokyo highway circuits in one of 72 high-performance sports cars, earning points to purchase upgrade parts, with gameplay consulting by racing champion Keiichi Tsuchiya.
One PAL variant is currently catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, and Italy as a combined multi-territory pressing. The release is presented in a Full Jewel PAL case with a Hologram A on the case, and contains a single English-language disc. The earliest PAL release date is 27 June 1997.
No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. As one of the few Western releases in the Shutokou Battle series, Tokyo Highway Battle is of interest to both fans of Japanese car culture and collectors of niche PAL PS1 racing titles. The Hologram A on the case is a notable detail.
