Time Crisis
SCES-00657
Initially Released 30 November 1997
Time Crisis is a light gun shooter developed and published by Namco, originally released in arcades in 1995 and ported to PlayStation in 1997, coinciding with the European launch of the Guncon light gun controller. The game introduced a pedal-based cover system that distinguished it from other light gun shooters of the era, with three stages each split across three areas and a boss encounter. Three PAL variants are catalogued: an Original release with a Full Jewel PAL case, a Special Bundle Mini Jewel Black Bordered version bundled with the Guncon, and a Platinum reissue, all under serial SCES-00657 and covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. The Original release is documented with a round yellow and green case sticker advertising a free Point Blank demo inside, alongside a PlayStation and Namco Catalogue as loose paperwork. Research notes confirm the Original as a rarer barcode-carrying version compared to the more common Special Bundle disc, which is marked “not to be sold separately.”
