Syphon Filter

Syphon Filter is a 1999 third-person shooter developed by Eidetic and published in PAL territories by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Players control special agent Gabe Logan as he pursues a terrorist organisation that has stolen a deadly virus, navigating levels that blend stealth-action with puzzle-solving. The game received critical acclaim and became a flagship action title for the PlayStation.

Five PAL variants are catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, each in a Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case on a single disc with separate serials per territory. A round black case sticker reading “Must have for fans of Metal Gear Solid” is documented on the UK variant, and the Italian pressing carries a round yellow Wanted 2 sticker alongside an Italian Syphon Filter Wanted 2 leaflet as loose paperwork. The per-territory serial structure reflects a fully localised European publishing approach by Sony.
