Suikoden

Suikoden is a role-playing game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami, loosely based on the Chinese novel Water Margin. Players lead a rebellion against a corrupt empire while gathering the 108 Stars of Destiny, a cast of recruitable characters that vastly expands the party and castle-building options. Originally released in Japan in 1995, the PAL version arrived in April 1997. Three PAL variants are catalogued, all Original pressings in Full Jewel PAL cases without holograms, sharing a single serial across different country groupings. One pressing covers the UK only with English text on the rear inlay, a second covers the UK and Italy with English language content, and a third covers France, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands with multi-language rear inlay text and a multi-language manual. The differing inlay text between the UK and continental European pressings makes this an interesting variant study. A beloved RPG of significant collector and cultural interest.
