Steel Harbinger

Steel Harbinger is a multidirectional shooter developed and published by Mindscape, released for the PlayStation in 1996. Players take on the role of Miranda Bowen, a young woman mutated into a human and alien hybrid, serving as humanity’s last line of defence against an alien invasion. The game is presented from a three-quarter perspective and uses live action full motion video sequences to advance its storyline.

Only one PAL variant is currently catalogued, and it is a UK-exclusive release. The game is presented in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram on the case, and contains a single English-language disc. The earliest PAL release date is 13 December 1996.

No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. As a UK-only release from a relatively niche publisher, Steel Harbinger is not widely encountered in the second-hand market, and a clean copy in its case is a worthwhile pickup for collectors interested in the more obscure corners of the PAL PS1 library.
