South Park

South Park is a first person shooter based on the American animated comedy series of the same name, with the PlayStation port developed by Appaloosa Interactive based on the original Iguana Entertainment Nintendo 64 build, and published in PAL territories by Acclaim Entertainment. The European release in late 1999 was timed to coincide with the cinematic release of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, and the title remains primarily of interest as a curio rather than a competently executed shooter. The PAL release landscape currently records a single catalogued variant under serial SLES-02158, an English language original release dated 31st October 1999 on a single disc, with country, case type, and hologram type all undocumented at the time of writing. Research is ongoing for additional regional variants and packaging detail. Collector interest is driven primarily by the South Park licensing and series crossover appeal rather than by the gameplay quality, which received generally negative critical reception across all formats.
