Initially Released 19 April 1996
Shellshock is a vehicular combat game developed by Core Design and published by U.S. Gold, released in 1996 for the PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and MS-DOS. Players assume the role of a rookie tank commando joining the mercenary unit Da Wardenz, fighting through a near-future science fiction scenario across multiple combat stages.
The database catalogues three PAL variants across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, released from April 1996. All three are Original releases with no budget or re-release editions documented. Each variant is presented in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram on the case. The UK, Italy, and Spain share one pressing, while France and Germany each have separate regional editions with their own serials. Language support includes English, French, and German. No loose paperwork or bundled demos are documented across any variant.
As a Core Design tank combat title from the mid-1990s, Shellshock occupies a modest but distinct niche in the PAL PlayStation catalogue.
