Sentinel Returns is a strategy puzzle game developed by Hookstone, produced by No-Name Games, and published by Sony under the Psygnosis label in 1998, for both PC and PlayStation. A sequel to Geoff Crammond’s original The Sentinel, the game features 651 levels, a multiplayer mode, and a soundtrack composed by John Carpenter and arranged by Gary McKill. The game presents a dramatically different visual tone from its predecessor, with dark and hallucinatory environments. Five PAL variants are catalogued, all released from 17 July 1998, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, and Portugal on single disc Full Jewel PAL cases. Language support spans English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish across the release. The John Carpenter soundtrack and the unusual visual aesthetic make Sentinel Returns a notable collector curiosity within the Psygnosis catalogue.
