Rival Schools: United by Fate is a 3D tag-team fighting game developed by Capcom Production Studio 1, originally an arcade release in 1997 before being ported to the PlayStation in 1998. The game centres on battles between students from rival Japanese schools, with a comedic style and the Street Fighter character Sakura Kasugano making a guest appearance. The PAL version notably differs from the Japanese release in that the Nekketsu Seisyun Nikki visual novel game mode was removed. Five PAL variants have been catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and a combined Spain and Portugal pressing. All releases are Original, presented in Full Jewel PAL cases with Hologram A on the case, and span two discs. Virgin Interactive handled the European distribution. Loose paperwork documented includes a Virgin Interactive 3266 Folded Registration Card for the UK and a Yellow Madrid Registration Card for the Spanish pressing.
