Resident Evil: Director's Cut
SLES-00969
Initially Released 10 December 1997
Resident Evil: Director’s Cut is an expanded version of the original survival horror game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published in PAL territories by Virgin Interactive. Released to compensate for the delayed sequel Resident Evil 2, it includes an arranged mode with gameplay alterations alongside an infamous uncut opening cinema. All PAL releases include a bundled Resident Evil 2 demo variant disc. PAL collectors will find four catalogued original variants, each with a dedicated serial. The UK and combined Italy/Spain pressing share one serial, while France and Germany each carry their own. All releases are housed in Full Jewel PAL cases with a single disc and carry a Hologram A on the case. The earliest PAL release is dated 10 December 1997. The UK pressing is documented with a Virgin Interactive Registration Card as loose paperwork, and the German pressing includes both a Virgin EU Response Coupon and an Ink Ribbon promotional flyer.
