Rayman

Rayman is a side-scrolling platformer created by Michel Ancel, developed by UbiSoft Entertainment Montpellier Studios and published by Ubisoft Entertainment. Players guide the limbless hero through six colourful worlds, defeating enemies, gaining new powers and freeing the captured Electoons after Mr Dark steals the Great Protoon.

The earliest PAL release is dated 10 December 1995, and four variants are currently catalogued. They cover the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain, and span three release types: Original, Reprint and Platinum. There are two separate Reprint entries, which sit between the Original and the Platinum issue.

Packaging is consistent, with every variant using the Full Jewel PAL case and a single disk. Language coverage is English, French and German. The Original is documented with no hologram, while the Platinum release carries a Hologram B, so the cases give a quick visual guide to the era of each pressing.

As a PlayStation launch-era title in Europe, Rayman remains a staple of any PAL collection. The small number of variants makes a complete set achievable, though the early Original is the one collectors tend to hunt for.
