Rat Attack

Rat Attack is an arcade-style puzzle game developed by Pure Entertainment and published by Mindscape, first released on PlayStation in 1999 before later appearing on Nintendo 64, Microsoft Windows, and eventually GOG in 2025. Players control the Scratch Cats, a superhero team tasked with stopping Washington and Jefferson, two evil mutant space rats, by catching and eliminating rats across maze-like levels within a time limit. Three PAL variants are catalogued, with releases from 15 October 1999 covering the UK and France, plus a third variant with no country assignment recorded. All known variants use Full Jewel PAL cases on single discs and carry content in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The game received mixed reviews after a lengthy development period. The broad six-language support across a relatively modest three-variant PAL release makes Rat Attack an interesting edge case in the Mindscape catalogue.
