R-Types

R-Types is a 1998 shoot ’em up compilation developed and published by Irem, containing pixel-accurate ports of R-Type and R-Type II alongside bonus artwork, a series history gallery, and FMV content. Published in PAL territories by Virgin Interactive. The compilation arose from Irem using it as a market test for a potential new R-Type game following financial difficulties. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, a combined UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain pressing in a Full Jewel PAL case on a single disc with Hologram A on the case and English-only language support. The game received praise for its quality and bonus content and is a collector staple for fans of the R-Type franchise and PAL shmup releases.
