R-Type Delta

R-Type Delta is a shoot ’em up developed and published by Irem for the PlayStation, serving as the fourth main entry in the R-Type series and the first to use 3D graphics while retaining the series’ signature horizontal scrolling gameplay. Published in PAL territories by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, the game received broadly positive reviews and was a notable entry in the PS1 shooter catalogue.

Four PAL variants are catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. All releases are presented in Full Jewel PAL cases with a standard hologram on the case, with English as the sole language, each on a single disc. Three of the four variants have confirmed EAN barcodes, released on 14 May 1999. A fourth variant covering France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands has no barcode on record. R-Type Delta is a well-regarded title among collectors of PAL shoot ’em ups.
