Project Overkill

Project Overkill is a top-down isometric shoot ’em up developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Chicago and published by Konami in 1996. The game pits one of four mercenary characters against alien forces across more than fifty levels, with an isometric perspective and co-operative play available. Character classes include a demolitions expert, a genetic hybrid, an alien weapons specialist, and a special ops assassin. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, an Original multi-country pressing covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands in a Full Jewel PAL case without a hologram, released in November 1996. The single-variant PAL release and Konami origin make this a modest but worthwhile entry for collectors of mid-1990s PAL isometric shooters.
