Poy Poy
SLES-00785
Initially Released 1 June 1998
Poy Poy is a multiplayer party game developed and published by Konami, known in Japan as Poitters’ Point. Players compete in arena-based combat across seven three-dimensional environments, throwing objects at opponents in a last-player-standing format. The game supports up to four players via a Multi-Tap and offers AI tournament modes and two-player deathmatch play for those without additional controllers.
Two PAL variants have been catalogued, a UK-specific pressing and a combined continental pressing covering France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain. Both are Original releases in Full Jewel PAL cases with a single English-language disc each, sharing serial SLES-00785 and a release date of 1 June 1998. A sequel, Poy Poy 2, was released in 1998.
Poy Poy is a genuinely enjoyable multiplayer title that received a limited PAL distribution. Complete copies of either pressing are not especially easy to find, with the continental grouping being somewhat harder to locate in UK collections.
