OverBlood is a survival horror game developed by Riverhillsoft and published in Europe by Electronic Arts, first released in Japan in 1996. The game is noteworthy as one of the first survival horror titles to use a fully three-dimensional virtual environment. Players control Raz Karcy, a man who wakes in a cryogenic pod with no memory, and must explore a futuristic facility, solve puzzles, manage survival resources, and uncover the truth about what happened.
Five PAL variants have been catalogued, covering the UK, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, and Germany. All are Original releases in the Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case format with no hologram on the case and a single disc each. The UK, Sweden, and a combined Netherlands, Spain, and Italy pressing share serial SLES-00768, while French (SLES-00769) and German (SLES-00770) language releases carry dedicated serials indicating localised content. All share a release date of 13 June 1997.
A sequel, OverBlood 2, was released in 1998. For collectors of survival horror and early 3D genre history, OverBlood is a genuinely significant title.
