Ninja: Shadow of Darkness

Ninja: Shadow of Darkness is an action beat ’em up platformer developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive, released in September 1998. Players guide the young ninja Kurosawa through progressively difficult environments in Feudal Japan, collecting potions, scrolls, and weapons against a series of large end-of-level bosses.

Four PAL variants have been catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands. All are Original releases in Full Jewel PAL cases with Hologram B on the cases and a single disc each. The title received fully localised pressings for each major territory, with separate serials for the southern European combined pressing (SLES-00756), France (SLES-00757), Germany (SLES-00758), and a UK and Netherlands combined pressing (SLES-01554). Language support varies accordingly, with Italian and Spanish on the first pressing, French on the second, German on the third, and English on the fourth.

The distinct serials per territory reflect genuine language localisation rather than a simple multi-EAN distribution split, making this a more complex variant set to track.
