NHL Face Off

NHL Face Off is an ice hockey simulation developed by Sony Interactive Studios America and published for PAL territories by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, the first entry in Sony’s NHL FaceOff series on the PlayStation.

The database currently catalogues a single PAL variant, an Original release distributed across the UK, France, and Germany. The release is presented in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram, in English only on a single disc. No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs are documented. NHL Face Off was Sony’s debut ice hockey title on the PlayStation, featuring all NHL teams and players, season and trade modes, and gameplay noted for its visual quality at the time. Its PAL presence is limited to a single multi-territory pressing with no follow-on releases catalogued, making it a fairly uncommon title outside its primary North American audience and of particular interest to collectors of early Sony first-party sports titles.
