NHL 98 is an ice hockey simulation developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports, the successor to NHL 97 and the last instalment in the series released for SNES, Sega Genesis, or Sega Saturn. Based on the 1997-98 NHL season, the game introduced faster four-button gameplay, improved polygonal graphics with reduced pixelation, and new commentary from Jim Hughson and Darryl Reaugh. Five PAL variants are catalogued across Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, and the UK, all Original pressings in Full Jewel PAL cases. Germany received a distinct early serial under SLES-00512, while the remaining territories share SLES-00907 variants split across UK, Nordic countries, France, and Italy/Spain groupings. All variants carry Hologram on the case. A well-distributed PAL release for an ice hockey title, with notably broad Nordic coverage reflecting the sport’s popularity in Scandinavia.
