NBA Jam Extreme

NBA Jam Extreme is a 1996 arcade basketball game developed by Sculptured Software and published by Acclaim Entertainment, the first NBA Jam title from Acclaim after the company acquired the exclusive rights to the Jam name from Midway. It was the first edition of the game to use 3D graphics. The cover features Shawn Kemp of the Seattle SuperSonics and Hakeem Olajuwon of the Houston Rockets. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, a UK-only Original release in a Full Jewel PAL case without a hologram, released in November 1996. The UK-exclusive distribution reflects the limited European reach of this North American arcade basketball title. Notable players including Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and Shaquille O’Neal were absent due to competing commercial agreements.
