NBA Fastbreak ‘98 is a basketball simulator developed by Visual Concepts and published in PAL territories by GT Interactive Software. Set during the 1997-98 NBA season, the game was originally announced under the title Hardwood Heroes before releasing under the Fastbreak name on PlayStation. It offers season mode, exhibition matches, and a practice mode, with 27 offensive sets, 16 plays, and support for player creation and free agent placement. Only a single PAL variant is catalogued, covering the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands on one disc in a Full Jewel PAL case, with English as the sole language. The PAL release arrived on 1 December 1998, somewhat later than the North American launch. An analogous version, NBA Action 98, was released on Sega Saturn by Sega. With just one pressing documented, the PAL release is a compact entry in the GT Interactive sports catalogue of the period.
