Metal Gear Solid Platinum & Metal Gear Solid Special Missions Pack Long

Metal Gear Solid Platinum & Metal Gear Solid Special Missions Pack Long is a bundled package built around Konami’s stealth action classic, developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami. It pairs the main game with the Special Missions disc in a single retail pack.

One variant is currently catalogued, a Special Bundle with an earliest PAL release date of 26 February 1999. It is recorded for the UK, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy, and the language listed is English. The set contains three discs housed in a Multiway Jewel Two Disk case, which is unusual compared with the standard single disc Full Jewel PAL cases found on most PlayStation releases. The case carries a Hologram B.

Because only one variant has been catalogued so far, research is ongoing, and further pressings or regional versions of the bundle may yet come to light.

For collectors, the unusual multi-disc case and the bundled nature of the release make it a distinctive piece of Metal Gear Solid history, and a worthwhile target for anyone completing a PAL collection of the series.
