Mega Man X3 is a 2D platform game originally developed by Minakuchi Engineering and published by Capcom for the Super Nintendo in 1995, subsequently ported to PlayStation and Sega Saturn with CD-quality audio and FMV cutscenes added. The third entry in the Mega Man X series, the game is the first in which Zero becomes a playable character alongside X. The story involves a Reploid scientist named Dr. Doppler and his rogue community of Maverick followers. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, a multi-country Original pressing covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain in a Full Jewel PAL case without a hologram, released in July 1997, published in the PAL region by Virgin Interactive. The enhanced PlayStation port with its added music and cutscenes makes this the definitive version of the game for many fans, and the single-variant PAL release is of interest to both Mega Man and Capcom collectors.
